The Pathway to Excellence

We guide ambitious MENA students through the strategic complexities of U.S. university admissions. Our advisory aligns family legacy with elite academic profiles.

Strategic Alignment

Intellectual Resilience by Design

Long-Term Preparation

True preparation begins years before the first application is submitted, focusing on genuine intellectual curiosity and rigorous scholarship.

Cultural Translation

Our advisors bridge the gap between MENA's heritage and Western academic expectations, translating family values into a compelling, dignified narrative for admissions committees.

Our Core Advisory Pillars

We divide our counsel into two distinct phases of academic development, ensuring students are positioned for acceptance and prepared for long-term retention.

Phase One

Phase Two

Strategic Admissions

Academic Retention

Tailored positioning from early secondary school through final application. We translate regional leadership and cultural capital into elite academic currency.

Post-admissions support designed to foster intellectual resilience. We prepare scholars to navigate the rigorous cultural and academic expectations of U.S. campuses.

Focus areas: Profile optimization, narrative development, and institutional alignment.

Focus areas: Transition mentorship, research positioning, and leadership integration.

University Navigation & Admissions

The U.S. higher education system is more complex than it appears. There are over 4,000 accredited institutions, community colleges, four-year universities, and transfer pathways that can cut the cost of a bachelor's degree by 60 to 70 percent — almost completely unknown in the MENA region. We match your goals, budget, and English proficiency to the right institutions, walk you through every application step, coach your personal statement until it sounds like you, and verify every school is SEVP-certified and regionally accredited.

What this covers:

  • School selection matching your goals, budget, and English level

  • Community college transfer pathway — 60 to 70 percent cheaper than direct four-year enrollment

  • Application strategy and timeline planning for up to 5 target schools

  • Personal statement and essay coaching

  • Degree requirements and course sequence mapping

  • Foreign credential evaluation guidance through WES and NACES

  • Scholarship and financial aid options for international students

  • TOEFL and IELTS score requirements by institution

Student Success Coaching

Getting admitted is the beginning — not the destination. Our student success coaching is grounded in Dr. Moukrime's doctoral research on how students build the self-efficacy to succeed academically in unfamiliar environments. We work on time management, executive function skills, GPA recovery strategies, and the academic behaviors that separate students who thrive from students who disappear from enrollment records.

What this covers:

  • Time management frameworks designed for U.S. higher education

  • Executive function skills — organization, planning, and self-regulation

  • GPA recovery strategies and academic probation intervention

  • Transitioning into American academic culture expectation

  • Study skills and learning strategies for different course format

  • Building academic self-efficacy grounded in doctoral research

Cultural Orientation & Integration

Culture shock is real. We help students navigate faith and cultural identity on the American campus — including finding halal food options, prayer spaces, Muslim Student Association communities, and other faith resources relevant to your personal background.

What this covers:

  • American campus culture — unwritten rules, instructor expectations, classroom norms

  • Building belonging while maintaining cultural and religious identity

  • Islamic student life — halal food, prayer spaces, MSA organizations

  • Managing cultural adjustment and homesickness

  • Family communication strategies

  • Intercultural communication for academic and professional settings

F-1 Visa & International Student Orientation

The F-1 visa process is manageable — but only when properly understood. We provide a clear, honest orientation covering the DS-160 form, SEVIS registration, maintaining student status, and the general framework of OPT and CPT. We tell you clearly where educational advising ends and where a licensed immigration attorney begins.

What this covers:

  • Overview of the F-1 visa process from DS-160 to visa interview

  • What SEVIS is and how the I-901 fee works

  • SEVP-certified school verification

  • Maintaining F-1 status — requirements and what to avoid

  • General overview of OPT and CPT

  • Clear explanation of advising boundaries vs. legal advice

  • Referrals to trusted immigration attorneys for legal questions

Important: Nujoom provides educational advising only. For legal questions consult a licensed immigration attorney.

First-Semester Success Planning

Admission is a piece of paper. Preparation determines whether you succeed. We build you a customized 90-day success plan designed specifically for your institution, your major, and your personal profile — from pre-arrival logistics to building relationships with professors from Day 1.

What this covers:

  • Pre-arrival orientation — housing, banking, transportation, health insurance

  • Academic calendar navigation — deadlines, add/drop, midterms, finals

  • Building relationships with advisor and professors from Day 1

  • Campus resource mapping — tutoring, writing labs, counseling services

  • Setting up a U.S. bank account as a student

  • 90-day structured success plan tailored to your specific institution

Group Coaching & Community

Not every student needs one-on-one consulting. Monthly group coaching sessions bring together 8 to 12 students at similar stages — admissions, visa preparation, pre-arrival, or first-semester adjustment — for live bilingual sessions in Arabic and English, shared resources, and peer connection that makes studying abroad feel less like something you are doing alone.

What this covers:

  • Monthly sessions for 8 to 12 students at the same stage

  • Themed monthly topics — admissions, visa, first semester, career

  • Live Q and A in Arabic and English

  • Shared resources, templates, and guides

  • Peer support and shared problem-solving

  • Most affordable option for students on tighter budgets

High School College Readiness Portfolio

Most consultants start when a student is already applying. We start years earlier — working with families from the start of the 4-year high school track (Grade 9 or 10) to strategically build the GPA, English proficiency, extracurricular profile, and personal narrative that U.S. universities demand. This multi-year approach is the most powerful and affordable path to a top U.S. college.

What this covers:

  • Initial family consultation — goals, budget, timeline, target institutionsAcademic profile assessment and U.S. college readiness roadmap

  • TOEFL or IELTS preparation timeline — when to start and target score planning

  • Extracurricular strategy — what activities strengthen a U.S. application

  • Digital portfolio building — achievements, projects, community involvement

  • Course selection guidance

  • Personal statement development

  • Full application support

  • Financial planning — understanding U.S. college costs and scholarship landscape

All services are delivered in English and Arabic via Zoom.
